Creating a new green heart for everyday living at Highland Walloon

16 January 2026

Lennium Group is excited to share more details about the first local park at Highland Walloon, a vibrant green space designed to bring residents and the wider community together to enjoy the outdoors.

As a key feature of the central green spine through Highland Walloon, the park has been carefully planned to combine active play, shaded gathering areas, and open green spaces, creating a welcoming environment at the heart of the community.

Construction is well advanced, with the park expected to open in the first half of 2026.

The design caters to all ages. A large play structure will provide challenges and adventure for older children, while a dedicated toddler area will feature age-appropriate equipment. Swings, including a maxi swing, and a trike path with playful road markings will encourage healthy activity and movement.

For older children, teenagers, and adults, the park will also include a half basketball court, ideal for casual games and social connection. Nearby shelters and picnic settings will provide comfortable spaces to relax, watch the kids play, or enjoy a weekend picnic with family and friends.

The park’s landscaping will feature more than 40 trees, providing shade as they mature, along with extensive plantings of shrubs, grasses, and groundcovers chosen for both beauty and durability. A mix of turf and low-maintenance planting areas will create pleasant open spaces, while a dedicated native revegetation area will use species drawn from the local ecosystem, reinforcing the park’s connection to the natural Walloon landscape. This area links to the larger linear parkland running through Highland Walloon and complements existing mature vegetation that is being retained and enhanced.

Lennium Group Development Manager Ian Worthington said the park had been carefully planned to support everyday life at Highland Walloon.

“This park is about creating a space residents will use regularly – whether that’s a quick visit after school, a casual kick of the footy, or a place to meet friends on the weekend,” he said.

“We wanted something practical, welcoming and inclusive, with facilities that appeal to different ages and stages of life.”

As Highland Walloon continues to take shape, this first local park will serve as an early focal point for the community.

“We’ve been very conscious of creating a park that feels established over time and reflects its surroundings because parks like this set the tone for a community,” Ian said.

“This is a place where memories will be made, friendships will form, and people will really start to feel at home at Highland Walloon.”
