Waraba a big winner from City of Tomorrow vision

21 March 2026

The newly released City of Tomorrow strategy from City of Moreton Bay reveals an ambitious vision for how the region will become home to one million people with few places to benefit more than Waraba.

The visionary plan recognises Waraba’s central role in this future growth, positioning it as a cornerstone of a modern, sustainable and well-connected polycentric city.

City of Tomorrow highlights major infrastructure projects that will directly shape Waraba’s liveability, including the proposed Bruce Highway Western Alternative – a new corridor designed to connect Waraba with Caboolture, Morayfield and Brisbane while easing pressure on the existing Bruce Highway.

Other programs in the report were:

  • A new rapid bus link between Waraba and Caboolture, giving future residents quick, direct access to rail and regional centres
  • The Buchanan Road Overpass and east–west transport upgrades, creating safer, faster connections across the region
  • Enhanced digital and mobile connectivity, ensuring the city is fully equipped for smart living and remote work
  • Investment in community, cultural and sporting infrastructure

City of Tomorrow is Moreton Bay’s 10-year advocacy action plan, emphasising sustainability and resilience.

For future Waraba residents, this means a community designed around green open spaces, efficient transport, digital connectivity and a strong sense of place.

Lennium Group Development Manager Ian Worthington said the City of Tomorrow plan recognised that Waraba was not just about housing but the creation of an entirely new kind of city.

“At Lilywood Landings, we’re already seeing that future take shape,” he said.

“The first residents are moving in, new homes are popping up every day, and the sense of community is building. It’s proof that Waraba’s story has well and truly begun.”
